Howard A. DaCosta is a Tax Strategist and the founder and CEO of USBARE, LLC. After nearly 29 years at Emigrant Bank, rising to Assistant Treasurer and Supervisor in Financial Accounting, Howard made the decision in 2013 to leave corporate banking and build his own firm — a decision shaped by his wife's cancer diagnosis and his need for the flexibility to care for her. That turning point became USBARE, LLC, which today helps business owners, high-net-worth individuals, and W-2 earners stop overpaying the IRS and start growing real wealth.

For 28 years, Howard sat on the other side of the desk in banking at Emigrant Bank, watching hardworking people overpay in taxes simply because no one showed them a better way. In 2013, his wife's cancer diagnosis changed everything — and despite years of dedicated corporate service, he couldn't get the flexibility he needed to care for her. So he made a choice: he left the corporate world behind and became his own boss. That's how USBARE, LLC was born — not out of a business plan, but out of necessity and love.
